Accounts Administrator
I joined Edinburgh in 2021 and have really enjoyed being part of such a dynamic, supportive team. In my role as accountant, I take care of a range of financial responsibilities including trust account reconciliations, GST returns, payroll processing, and preparing financial reports. I also help manage the financial side of our short stay accommodation service, which adds an extra layer of variety to my day-to-day work.
What I enjoy most is the diversity of the role. No two days are the same, and I love the challenge of working in a fast-paced real estate environment. There’s something very satisfying about working with property-related financials, and the variety of tasks keeps things interesting and rewarding.
My interest in real estate started when my husband and I began developing a couple of properties — it wasn’t a career move I had planned, but that hands-on experience gave me a real appreciation for the industry and led me to where I am today.
Before joining Edinburgh, I worked in financial accounting and business management. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Otago and originally trained in Speech and Language Therapy. Over the years, I’ve built a strong background in finance, business strategy, and operational management.
One of the things I’m most proud of is being part of a workplace where people genuinely care about each other. It creates a great culture and makes the work even more fulfilling.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking (especially along the beach), and helping out at the ice hockey club where my son plays — I’m the manager for the U18 Junior Thunder team. We also have a Labrador named Buddy, who’s very much part of the family. And when I have a bit of quiet time, I love to draw — it’s a creative outlet that brings me a lot of joy.
