This year for Daffodil Day, our team proudly manned a collection stall at Wall Street Mall, and the generosity we witnessed was nothing short of inspiring. The amount of donations we received was truly impressive, and it was heartwarming to see so many people come together to support the Cancer Society of New Zealand.
This year, we had the privilege of working alongside Nathan Seddon, a two-time Commonwealth Games track cyclist who recently faced an even bigger challenge, a diagnosis of grade three brain cancer. Nathan shared his story with us, speaking about the importance of staying positive, drawing on his mental toughness from high-performance sport, and surrounding himself with a strong support network. His courage and drive are inspiring, and we are honoured to support him in raising awareness for cancer research and support services here in New Zealand.
Cancer affects us all. One in three New Zealanders will face a diagnosis in their lifetime - whether it’s a parent, sibling, partner, friend, or even ourselves. It doesn’t discriminate, and too many families know the impact it can have. From patients and researchers to Cancer Society staff, volunteers, and even Kiwi sportspeople, almost everyone has a connection to the 1 in 3.
If you couldn’t make it out on Friday, it’s not too late, you can still make a difference by donating online through the link below. Together, we can help fund vital cancer research, patient support, and education programmes.
