Originally from Central Southland I am now very pleased to call Dunedin home. I am happily married, my wife works at the University and we have two great kids.
In my working life I have had a small yet diverse array of jobs, including broadcasting, live promotions (UK), sales, engineering and furniture design. In 2003 shortly after moving to Dunedin I chose to go to University for the first time and graduated in 2005 with a management and design degree from Otago. I have been working to hone these skills in the commercial sector.
In 2005 I joined the Southern District Health Board, Planning and Funding team as a project manager at and I worked on many large projects in the primary health sector. While I was doing this I kept one day a week free to continue with my interest in design. I won a ‘better by design’ internship and was placed with local playground manufacturer, A J Grants, where I developed some new and inclusive playground equipment. Most recently in late 2009 I became the Applied Design Research Centre, General Manager which was based at the Otago Polytechnic. My role was to find commercial clients in the private sector and to use the Otago Polytechnic and other resources from the wider business community to deliver commercial design outcomes for our paying clients. Many of the outcomes gained national recognition. This was a fantastic role which provided me with a lot of new skills.
To keep my design skills sharp I am working on a sports coaching product called Tactic in my spare time. I am also currently attending Otago and working towards a post graduate certificate technology entrepreneurship.
I was delighted to join the team at Edinburgh Realty as I know this team to have an excellent reputation in this industry.
